Anki integration

I absolutely love Ringotan. I learned 1104 kanji (664 at Sensei) at an incredible speed, and I think it is thanks to this app. Following along the WaniKani route and adding learned Kanji to Ringotan is a lot of fun.

But I also add a lot of kanji to Anki, usually those not on WaniKani (Jouyou and JLPT), and thought about how nice it would be if I could just learn those in Ringotan as well. I believe AnkiDroid provides the facilities to do this, but I do not know how easy it is to use. But it would definitely improve my workflow.

I'm not sure what this would look like?  Anki does not have a set kanji order, it depends on the deck.  And the decks are hard to parse because they are not just lists of kanji, they're cards with potentially lots of information (example sentences, grammar explanations, etc) which may contain kanji that the user wouldn't want added to Ringotan yet.

However there is this request which I plan on implementing soon. Would that meet your needs?

That would also be really great regardless and certainly of help.

What I meant specifically was a way to see a list with all the kanji that are in my Anki decks and then being able to add them to Ringotan. So for example, Ringotan would use AnkiDroid's api (https://github.com/ankidroid/Anki-Android/wiki/AnkiDroid-API) to look through all the notes I have and make a list of all the kanji it could find (maybe also grouped by deck and filterable in the same way as custom studies; it would also be really nice if I could only show the kanji that I already had learned in Anki, as in not part of new cards).

This would make it a lot easier to keep my Anki and Ringotan studies in sync.

On another note, I noticed that some kanji seem to be missing in the WaniKani order (specifially 僕). I have not kept track of it, 僕 is the only one I really noticed it, but I feel like it also is the case for a few other kanjis.

Hmm, alright. Unfortunately I don't think there's any reliable way to implement this, for the reasons stated above, so I'm going to close this.

The Wanikani issue will be fixed in the next version:
