I recall something similar in the earlier levels, but don't know what exactly the wrong kanji was.
The list may be outdated. Wanikani changes their ordering frequently, and doesn't publish a list (AFAIK), so I've had to use third-party sources.
I'll keep this open and see if I can find an updated list.
You can generate a WaniKani API key and fetch this data in about 10 requests. You do not need a premium account for this.
Scraping it from their API is tricky legal-wise because they own the copyright and haven't released it under any license. I will contact Tofugu and try to get their permission.
I've gotten permission from Wanikani for this, and will begin work on it soon
