    Litwickclub · 0 · Posted

Please add an account system asap to login and save progress online because if you lose your phone or delete the app all progress is lost 😹 ok edit: you can save via export and importing. I appreciate that.

Custom study: Sort by Last Failed (time)

    Jeanpatiri500 · 0 · Posted

Please consider adding a Sort by Last Failed search option. This would be very useful to me and probably many other people to be able to grind the Kanjis we struggled with.

For now I'm using the "Most Difficult First" which is also useful, but in some sessions/some cases, Sort by Last Failed would be even more useful. (Both are very useful in different situations)

Thanks in advance! Your app has been of a great help to me so far, I'm grinding my kanji writing skills as this is required for the language school I will be joining in April

Lessons don’t pop up on the first introductory sequence for Tobira

Tobirakun · 1 · Last reply by Tobirakun

Not sure why but when I first downloaded the app and whenever I reset the data and chose Katakana and Tobira, nothing shows up on my lesson plan (the “This Lesson” tab said there are none.) Once I switched the book to genki and back to Tobira, the lessons finally showed up, but now I can’t adjust where I want to start from.

Would you ever consider adding Chinese?

Aedon Cassiel · 1 · Last reply by Aedon Cassiel

There is tons of great open source data out already, like https://github.com/chanind/hanzi-writer?tab=readme-ov-file and https://github.com/skishore/makemeahanzi and given you already have Ringotan put together, I wonder if feeding this data in wouldn’t be fairly trivial. I can ALMOST replicate Ringotan-like function using this tool https://github.com/krmanik/Anki-xiehanzi to pull from those resources into an Anki deck, but by default they're teaching hanzi by having you draw over the outlines instead of testing you on hanzi like Ringotan does with kanji. I spent a few hours trying to duct tape my way into a solitution, to mixed results. But even if I managed to get

    Make a comprehensive kanji lesson

Currently, no lesson contains every kanji supported by Ringotan.  We should create one that does.

Find some more common hyougai kanji

BlueRaja · 2 · Last reply by Aedon Cassiel

According to this question, the word 朊朧 is fairly common, but neither kanji is included in Ringotan.  It seems neither the word nor kanji are listed as common in our dictionaries, but ロă‚č慈生 confirmed that it is.  So, let's find more data sources that include this information.

Apparently JPDB lists it as common. Where do they get their information from?

Recommend books that you can read with the kanji you know.

    Joshua · 0 · Posted

This is probably a moonshot, but imagine this: I am studying 200 kanji. I want to practice reading those kanji. Ringotan knows what kanji I am studying and maybe connects to a db somewhere that stores all the vocab for various books. It then recommends books that use kanji only up to the point I have studied kanji.

Conversely, we could select books we want to be able to read, and ringotan would make a custom review of all the kanji therein that we need to know.

Allow us to view a list of which Kanji are at aka-chan, gakusei, senpai, tensai, and sensei levels.

There are a lot of Kanji I haven't seen for a while, guessing they are all at sensei level. Would like to be able to see them to verify I recall what they are.

A way to see "additional kanji" not present in the current learning mode?

    Aedon Cassiel · 0 · Posted

I want to keep my settings to give me new kanji as soon as I burn them in WaniKani, but I'm also adding kanji in myself and these often aren't in the WK set. I have to go to settings, change the mode, review the kanji, go back to srttings, and swap it back to WK mode again. Shouldn't it be possible to find all the kanji in the app no matter which mode you're in? And just in case: you do continue reviewing kanji that aren't in the learning mode you're currently in, right?

"Limit Kanji Per Day" not allows entering decimal number

NightDice · 2 · Last reply by NightDice

In the days field of "Set Daily New Kanji Limit" (when tapping on the enabled "Limit Kanji Per Day" option) I cannot enter decimal numbers.

I cannot enter a point "." to get for example 0.5 days (it just does not enter the point when tapping "." on the phone keyboard) and when I use a comma "," instead, it registers the number as if the comma was not present, e. g. entering "1,5" changes it to 15 days.

Since the default value was 0.5 days I know decimal numbers should be possible. But after changing to an integer I

    Multiple Device Sync Support

    Andy · 0 · Posted

This has previously been requested but I think has been misunderstood on what's being asked. While your app does automatically back up it's progress from a database perspective, it does not currently share this database across separate devices. This is something that needs to be explicitly setup.  As an example, I currently have your app running on both an iPhone and an iPad. Any progress made on the iPhone is not actively synchronized to the app instance on the iPad. The cloud sync that you currently have is simply maintaining a backup of the app in the case of needing

    Custom study for Sensei-level kanjis

    biri · 0 · Posted

Is it possible to add an option to custom study only kanjis you've reached Sensei level on? Similar to WaniKani that has an option to study all your Burned kanji randomly. Also, as a follow up, what exactly reaching Sensei means? Do they still come back to reviews after some time?

    Kanji in Context missing kanji
