Find better way to introduce learning stages?

BlueRaja · 1 · Last reply by Gamergod

In particular, when Ross tried out the app, he got confused by the stage where two strokes are shown and the user needs to remember which start/end pair are for the next stroke.

Maybe some kind of first time introduction that pops up the first time they encounter that stage (and other confusing things, like being able to switch correct/incorrect)?

    Custom Review - Search All

kaizokunokazoku · 1 · Last reply by BlueRaja

Is there some way to search across all the Kanji supported by Ringotan? I'm trying to find the 旧字体 version of 亀 (龜) which is listed on KanjiVG but I can't seem to find in any of the lesson sources (including JLPT and Kanken)

PS: Absolutely loving Ringotan, thank you so much for making this!

    Hi,

i have been using ringotan as a drill app and to learn kanji at my own pace using the custom review.

Noticed that there is 1 missing kanji in the Katakana section.

    My lesson plan is JLPT.

Possible to get a fix for this?

Any chance of considering changing the apple graphic on the main page?

Si · 1 · Last reply by kaizokunokazoku

I was hoping to find an address to e-mail the team at to ask this so I hope this doesn't feel too mean-spirited to say publicly. I've enjoyed using this app so far, it's an incredibly useful tool, but the apple on the main page unsettles me greatly. While I don't doubt love was put into its design, something about it's small pupils and wide-set smile give the impression it wishes to do me harm (as I'm typing this I have the app open to my side and I've just seen it switch to its angry expression for the first

Is there a way to get a list of the kanji that are at the different stats levels?

Kevin Mitchell · 1 · Last reply by BlueRaja

I'd like to take the kanji that I know pretty well, and update the list of kanji in Satori Reader, so that it displays kanji according to my knowledge. Even being able to copy the kanji by level would be a help. Thanks!

    Definition at top

Jim · 6 · Last reply by Jim

Is there a way to have the definition shown at the top as a prompt before writing the Kanji instead of sample words with compound Kanji or conjugations?

I want to learn the primary definition before learning other ways the Kanji can be paired and used.

A way to see "additional kanji" not present in the current learning mode?

    Aedon Cassiel · 0 · Posted

I want to keep my settings to give me new kanji as soon as I burn them in WaniKani, but I'm also adding kanji in myself and these often aren't in the WK set. I have to go to settings, change the mode, review the kanji, go back to srttings, and swap it back to WK mode again. Shouldn't it be possible to find all the kanji in the app no matter which mode you're in? And just in case: you do continue reviewing kanji that aren't in the learning mode you're currently in, right?

Would you ever consider adding Chinese?

There is tons of great open source data out already, like https://github.com/chanind/hanzi-writer?tab=readme-ov-file and https://github.com/skishore/makemeahanzi and given you already have Ringotan put together, I wonder if feeding this data in wouldn’t be fairly trivial. I can ALMOST replicate Ringotan-like function using this tool https://github.com/krmanik/Anki-xiehanzi to pull from those resources into an Anki deck, but by default they're teaching hanzi by having you draw over the outlines instead of testing you on hanzi like Ringotan does with kanji. I spent a few hours trying to duct tape my way into a solitution, to mixed results. But even if I managed to get
