Custom New Kanji Count

Hello there!

(Quick Context: You responded to my Google Play Review yesterday. I said;

I only wish we had more control over how much to learn. I can't limit my new Characters so that I study at my own Pace, so I have to awkwardly manually stop learning and then only do reviews the next Day.

To which you responded:

There is an option called "Limit New Kanji Per Day" which allows you to limit how often new kanji are introduced.

)

The "Limit New Kanji Per Day" Option is very static in saying "Only learn 2 new Kanji every 0,5 days", which still doesn't necessarily align with the Learning Speed I may have.
What I'm looking for is something more akin to the "Custom study" Feature for Anki Decks, which I use in tandem with Ringotan. In there it has the Option to choose how many Kanji to learn that Day. I like to go in certain Batches with the Heisig Book (making them thematically similar or stopping before a new Chapter), so the Amount of new Kanji I actually want to study varies each Day.

right now it's either "9", or "2 every 0,5 Days". To work around that, I abuse the Reviews blocking new Kanji. So for Example if I only get 5 new Kanji because of my Review Count, I can review some of them, opt out and then it's maybe 7 instead. And if I go through all my remaining Reviews and new Kanji at once then, I can learn 16 new Kanji that Way (hypothetical Example, I don't always want to do that many, but it was nicer to have my Kana Review Session stop right before Katakana or Kanji started respectively).

I hope that painted a better Picture of what I was hoping for.
Thank you very much for reading and for your hard Work!

Just an Addendum: I've read https://ringotan.helprace.com/i242-allow-customisable-kanji-per-lesson which basically proposes the same but got declined.

However the Answer to this Post wasn't really addressing the Difficulty of lining up the Kanji Counts in different Mediums, only talking about how to go above the daily Limit.

But doing less than what Ringotan proposes you is much more difficult because of the additional new Kanji being mixed into the Reviews of the other new Kanji.

Even if you say that Ringotan already goes for a healthy Rhythm, I want to present 2 Counterpoints to that:

1. If that was set in Stone and decided not to be changed, then why have the "Limit New Kanji Per Day" Option in the first Place? All it does is arbitrarily fix that Problem by giving another static Number of Kanji to learn instead. It appeas as if it was made as a potential Solution, it just doesn't address the Core Issue. But the Fact that this Feature exists makes me think that Users apparently should have some Kind of Option from a Developer-Standpoint.

2. Doing Things the recommended Way makes Sense for most Users, but that doesn't mean it must necessarily be the only Option. Same as all the other Toggles and Levers you already have in the Settings, something is set as the Standard for a Reason. With what we have right now I can probably make my Experience Using Ringotan worse if I really wanted to, but that's why you pre-set the Options in a Way to be User-friendly. Why is that different for this Feature specifically? Why can't there be an Option to adjust the New Kanji Count to a custom Value? It could still be 9 by Default, so most People will have the Experience that you want them to have, but those who know what they're doing and deliberately want to change this have the Option to do so.

You also wouldn't have to change anything about the Default Behavior. The 9 new Kanji are becoming less the more Reviews you have to do. It's simply a Maximum after all. So just as an Example to how this would work:

The most regular Case I've had was: 16 Reviews; 4 New
If I set the Maximum to 3, I'd get: 16 Reviews; 3 New
If I set the Maximum to 20, I'd get: 16 Reviews, 4 New (If you wanna make it was simple as possible), but if I do Review only and finish all of them, I'd have: 0 Reviews; 20 New. Or you do the 16+4, at once and then "only" have 0 Reviews; 16 New afterwards.

To be honest, I'm mainly interested in lowering the Value, because that would solve Issues for those that want more and less at the same Time. If you want to keep 9 as the Maximum, I'd be fine with being able to say: "I just wanna learn 5 new Kanji today", and only get 5. And if I wanna do 10 instead, I can just do 2x5.

Either Way, just being able to adjust the Maximum per Day flexibly and specifically, into a Range of 1-10 for Example, would probably be relatively easy to include and make both Sides happy at once without actually giving up the "Intentions" behind the System. Heck I can mess it up right now by just spamming my Learning Sessions and skipping every Kanji by setting it as "correct". Having the App be used against its Intentions is fairly easy for anyone who wants to do so, but something as essential for the Daily Rhythm as New Kanji Count doesn't seem that blasphemous to me.
