Was hoping to learn 淹れる but it's not in app?
Definition: to make (tea, coffee, etc.); to brew a beverage (with hot water)

I've already tried changing the Lesson Name to JLPT, WaniKani, etc., but I can't find this kanji anywhere.

I don't really understand the alogorthm stuff, but for reference, what exactly does the frequency setting change?

I'm perfectly fine with the way it is by default and don't wanna rock the boat, but I figure there's no harm in knowing about it. Is it just like decreasing/increasing a default flat rate of time between SRS levels (although I'm not even sure if this app is like Wanikani where there's flat set rates to begin with as opposed to something I can't wrap my mind around the specifics of like Anki FSRS, which I'd also be curious as to what the difference between FSRS and sm2+ is), or is it more complicated than that?

Is it recommended to do all reviews that you have available or just the amount that it gives your for the session?

I missed 2 days and when I go to study it shows 0 new and 27 review and in parentheses (of 38 total). I'm wondering if I should do all 38 reviews, or just do the reviews it shows for the session until I catch up naturally after a few days?

I've finished all the WK kanji in Ringotan and I've found that hitting Ringotan on "frequent review" accelerates my learning so much that I really want to do it with every new non-Jinmeiyou kanji I find in the wild. My first question is, is one of the filter options when selecting what list you want to study kanji from comprehensive, i.e. includes everything that's inside of Ringotan? Because I keep finding myself having to jump from list to list to find different kanji I come across. (a) Is one comprehensive; (b) if not could we get that :); (c) if not and in the mean time which of the lists is the most comprehensive?

My second question is, what does the current schedule look like (if any) for expanding the kanji included in Ringotan? :) I just came across 朦朧, and JPDB says the word is inside 10K word frequency with the kanji inside the top 2500 and 2100 respectively, but I can't find either in Ringotan. And IIRC the "most common" list in Ringotan passes 2500! Is there a reason some kanji in the 2k-3k bracket are overlooked, or is it just that takes time to expand the list? (I know the number of rare kanji goes on practically forever so you have to put a cut-off point somewhere. My personal goal is to feel fluent with words up to about 30K frequency because I find this is the level you have to reach for advanced writing and literary fiction to feel comfortable across a range of subjects, so I'd like to be handwriting any kanji that appear in words up to about 30k freq.)

Question about the algorithm's difficulty factor

I saw your blog post describing the algorithm used in this app and I wonder about this difficulty factor. In Anki there seemed to be the whole issue around "ease factor", so much that one of the most used addons modified this. It's an outdated issue with the new FSRS there though.

So what I'd like to ask is, how does your current algorithm behave when you fail a review many times, then start being succesful again? Do the initial failures mean you're forever cursed with short review interval for that specific review, or will it fix itself? I see the algorithm described, but I don't know what values the app plugs into it.

Could you perhaps give me an example of what happens to the "difficuty" parameter when you e.g. fail a review 5 times in a row, then answer correctly 5 times in a row, compared to another review where you answer 5 times in a row without any failures?

Introducing hiragana/katakana by similar sound groups

Is there anyway I can adjust the "Study" function so that it teaches me one hiragana/katakana "sound group at a time"?

For instance: learning "ka, ki, ku, ke, ko" and practicing those instead of getting 6-9 new letters at a time?

I also use Ringotan because it helps me remember the words that each kanji uses, but I would like that it shows me the whole word with all the kanji instead of the "?" symbol that happens with some words. Any way to deactivate that function or any similar solution?

I found the word 羨ましい but didn't found that kanji in Ringotan.
Are there some kanji left out on purpose or slipped this kanji just through?

In another thread you wrote there are problems with releasing the current version on iOS.

What kind of problem is this? A technical one or something with the Apple release process?

If it is a technical one I might be able to help you by searching the net for related solutions if you post the stacktrace or similar information (this kind of thing is party of my daily work, though my main language by now is Python).

I'm studying kanjis with Jalup Kanji Kingdom and i have a hard time to find some kanjis.
I'm quite sure ringotan has those kanjis in the app but i don't know how to add them to my "custom study" list. Here are some troublesome ones:

PS: Would it be possible to search a Kanji directly (by typing it) instead of looking it up in a list?
While looking at other topics, i've seen that "Search (or "add using keyboard") in custom reviews" has been created though...
PS-2: Would it be possibe to create our own list of kanjis in text file (or from a string of kanjis) and to import them directly into ringotan ? That would be great... Right now, i'm just adding kanjis one by one from Jalup Kanji Kingdom to my Ringotan kanji "custom review" and it's not very effective...

If you switch to another lesson which doesn't include kanji that you're currently in the middle of learning, what happens? I'd guess it crashes?

Before generating new dictionary database next, add code to make sure deprecated words still exist
